Want to explore creative new pathways and break out of standard slotted patterns? Join J & Keri for a workshop focused on discovering, creating, and navigating connection windows! This session is designed for Intermediate dancers looking to elevate their spatial control and visual presence. We're diving deep into the mechanics of framing—how to actively create "holes" within the slot, how to spot the natural windows that organically open up, and how both leaders and followers can utilize them. In this focused session, you'll learn: 🪡 Creating & Discovering: Learn how to actively build open spaces during passes and wrapped whips, and how both roles can spot natural, organic holes that already exist in your everyday patterns. 💃 Opportunistic Navigation: Discover how to utilize these spaces on the fly! We'll cover threading a free arm, level changes, and pacing to beautifully trace or slip through a window without rushing or disrupting the connection. ⚖️ Elastic Connection: Improve your frame elasticity and spatial awareness to offer, accept, or spontaneously dive into these pathways smoothly and safely. You should be highly comfortable with the basics (starter step, left side pass, underarm turn, sugar push, whip, free spin) PLUS more complex patterns like inside rolls, slingshots, and whips with a double outside turn. Solid timing, anchors, and momentum management are a must so we can jump straight into advanced variations. Do I need a partner? Nope! No partner is required. We will be rotating throughout the class so everyone gets a chance to practice connecting these new spatial pathways with different dancers. Questions?
