✨ Creativity Lab: How to Dance a Conversation ✨ Ready to turn your West Coast Swing into a playful two-way street? Join Brett and Keri for an interactive workshop focused on musical play and co-creation! Designed to help you break out of autopilot, we will explore the true give-and-take of social dancing. You will learn how either the leader or the follower can start a musical idea, and how the other partner can adapt and add onto it rather than floundering and not knowing what to do. You'll learn: 🗣️ Pitching Ideas: Learn how either role can safely initiate styling, footwork play, or a musical hit without breaking connection or hijacking the framework. 🎧 Catching the Vibe: Discover how to actively "listen" to your partner's momentum and confidently adapt on the fly, building off their energy instead of freezing up. 🤝 The "Yes, And..." Effect: Master the art of trading the spotlight back and forth to create spontaneous, low-stress musical moments together. You should already be familiar with your basic 6-count and 8-count WCS patterns (left side pass, underarm turn, sugar push, whip), basic timing, and how to anchor. Do I need a partner? Nope! You don't need to bring a partner to attend. Since this is a conversational class, we will be rotating frequently so both leaders and followers can practice "talking" and "listening" with different partners! Questions?
